I fell into sourdough at a time when health became everything to me.
Let’s face it, the real reason why you’re here is not the stories, but the bread. The crisp crunch of a freshly baked sourdough crust and the moist tasty center is what you want. Its not just the bite, its the satisfaction of knowing that each slice gives you 15 g of protein, loads of vitamins, and a healthy gut. Now that we’re honest with each other, I’m glad you’re still here, so here’s my story:
April 2022. I was peacefully rocking my then two-year-old daughter to sleep when my head started aching and my lips went numb. I went to bed thinking it was a migraine, not realizing that it could have been the last time I fell asleep. I was having a stroke at 27 years old.
The next several weeks were spent in the hospital. I had another stroke, a birthday, and a brain surgery within that first week. I thought life would return to normal and I was not prepared for my life to permanently change. While I have been very fortunate with strong family support and the ability to walk again, I grieved for a long time when I realized the old me was gone forever.
This is when making sourdough helped me heal.
In my journey, living and eating healthy wasn’t good advice anymore, it became absolutely necessary.
A friend introduced me to sourdough and shared their starter. I was hooked. Sourdough allowed me to be creative, strengthen my hands, and it didn’t have to look perfect. Although the sourdough tasted great and my friends and family loved it, it didn’t meet my nutrition goals.
I needed a loaf that could do more for me and provide more protein so I started experimenting.
I tried many different ingredients and eventually created my high-protein loaf without any protein powder. It buys you dinner, gives your mother compliments, and also pays the bill for you and your friends. It is a nutrient dense bread I genuinely feel great about eating.
I think you will enjoy this too so I’ve built this website and shared my recipes for free. If you need a little help, check out my guides.

Every fold, every new design reminds me that healing is rarely perfect but it is possible.
May every loaf remind you that beautiful things can rise, one day and one fold at a time.
